COMMISSIONS

I offer custom artwork for your home or office and for site-specific installations.

My artwork is architecturally inspired, so I would be delighted to create art inspired by your favorite city, street or building.

My materials are re-purposed, so I can use the ephemera from your home or office to create the art for you. If your office practice produces a waste material that cannot be easily recycled, I would love the challenge of incorporating it into the art.

Please email me to begin our conversation about your commissioned artwork.

COMMISSIONED HOME PORTRAITS

I create portraits of homes using ephemera collected by the owner of the home so that the artwork is special and meaningful to the person who lives there. Each portrait is guaranteed to be completely different and individual because you are providing my materials.

HOW DOES IT WORK?

See all the progress on commissioned art here.

~You send high-resolution photos of the outside of your home, no more than 10. Different sides, different angles, surroundings, so that I have a clear idea of what it's like. Tell me which one is your favorite view. If you are in the NY/NJ/CT tri-state area, I am happy to come to you and photograph your home myself.

~You also send ephemera collected from your home: papers, fabrics, receipts, wallpaper, bottle caps, twigs from your yard, candy wrappers, just about anything except large 3D items. You do not need to send many items, a few meaningful things will do. Make sure these things are special to you such as a map of a nearby park, mittens that you have loved beyond repair, your daughtersÕ first prize ribbon or a scrap of your favorite wallpaper. I may not use every single one of these, but 90% of the portrait will be constructed from them. All unused items will be returned if you wish.

~I transform your ephemera into a 12"x12" home portrait. It will be on stretched canvas, painted edges, ready for hanging or framing.

~It takes me two to three months to complete each portrait, so if you have a specific date in mind, such as a holiday or an anniversary, email me so we can discuss the timing.

~The price of a custom home portrait is $500, payable through PayPal. I require $250 non refundable deposit at the start of the project and $250 upon completion, prior to delivery. Delivery fees are included by FedEx Ground throughout the continental US. For all other locations delivery will be additional depending on the method agreed on.

~A custom home portrait makes a wonderful gift, so I am happy to issue a gift certificate.

With your permission I will blog about the process of creating your home portrait.

TESTIMONIALS:

OMG, it is AMAZING! I love it even more now that I have it in my hands - the colors are softer than they appeared in the photos and the details of your patient stitching really shine through. I love how you included the page from one of my favorite books (the tree picture) and it reminds me of the "climbing tree" I used to spend a lot of time in. Every element is well thought out and executed, I couldn't be happier! Thank you for making this treasure for me. I will cherish it always!

The detail such as the hummie feeder & flowers in the pots & box are so perfect! You do such lovely work and I am proud to own it. It will be cherished always. Again, thank you! But that seems so inadequate. Simply love it!

We are SO thrilled! Thank you!

As the woman who lives in this house, words cannot properly express how delightful and touching it is to see my home come to life in fiber by Natalya's hand! And my hole-in-the-thumbs favorite pair of mittens have been reborn and are now immortal! I cannot wait to place this in our house; I think I've found the perfect spot for it in the entry hall. I will pass it all day long.
